When it comes to device protection, there's a very large niche that wants to keep things simple. Protection without bulk is really a necessity for so many, otherwise they'd rather just keep their phone naked. Enter the Ultra Thin Air case from Spigen ($19.99), one of the most minimal cases you can get for the N4.

Straight out of the package one thing is clear: this is a no-frills case. And in this case (hahaha, get it?), that's not a bad thing. It gives a very minimal amount of protection, and looks great doing it. My review sample is a matte black little badass – it would make Batman proud. Really. If you're not into black cases, though, there's also a bright orange one available.
The construction of the case couldn't be simpler, as it's just one piece. You pop it on the back of the phone, and well, that's it. Openings for all the important bits – camera, speaker, volume, power, microUSB, and the headphone jack – are all readily accessible. And the best part? You can pop it on and off in mere seconds.
  
When it's equipped, it'll do a good job of keeping the back of your N4 scratch-free, and it may even do a decent job of protecting your device in a short fall. I'm not willing to test that theory, so my assumption will just have to do.
In a nutshell, if you're looking for a lightweight, minimal way to provide some basic protection for your Nexus 4, the Ultra Thin Air Case by Spigen is an excellent way to do so.
