BlackBerry Z10 ads leak

Ads showcasing RIM's Z10 flagship and BlackBerry 10 have leaked ahead of the official launch

Advertisements for RIM’s forthcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system and flagship Z10 touchscreen smartphone have leaked ahead of the official launch at the end of January.

The images show a very clear picture of the new handset, which looks more than a little bit like an iPhone if you ask us.

Stylistic choices aside, we can also see what RIM is going to be focusing on as selling points for its new platform.

As per our earlier previews, a big emphasis is the BlackBerry Hub, which presents a new way of navigating a smartphone and ensures your various communication inboxes, social networking, calendars and the like are always only a swipe away.

RIM’s dedicated BlackBerry browser also gets a mention and BBM has been revamped with screen-share video chat functionality.

We previously saw plenty of enthusiasm from BlackBerry reps about its new touchscreen keyboard technology which is also a focal point for the ad campaign, likewise for the Time Shift camera which allows you to select different faces from a short stretch of capture time.

There’s one thing we haven’t seen mentioned much before and that’s BlackBerry Remember, which we understand to be a task manager for scheduling certain smartphone activities – it remains to be seen how useful such a feature might be, but we won’t have long to wait to get to grips with it as the launch is happening on January 30.

We’ll be covering the event as it happens and, all being well, will have some hands-on time with the Z10 for you to check out.
