HTC's M7 Android flagship has leaked online again ahead of a possible February launch
The much-rumoured and leaked HTC M7, believed to be the company’s forthcoming flagship, has leaked online again. This time it’s taking a leaf out of the Apple iPhone’s book by appearing as various component parts.
This latest leak is a video showcasing the M7’s front and rear body panels showing a more angular form factor than the company’s One range and a dedicated camera button.
It’s difficult to be sure but we’d say from the photos the device looks very thin indeed.
The shape is similar to HTC’s recent launches in Japan and the US with the Butterfly models and Droid DNA respectively, although the M7 is believed to have a slightly smaller 4.7-inch display.
The front panel shown in the video matches up with leaks we’ve seen earlier in January, so there’s a good case for this being legit.
Rumours suggest HTC will launch the M7 ahead of Mobile World Congress on February 19, but there’s still a possibility it will launch at the Barcelona event at the end of the February.
Leaked specs hint at a 4.7-inch 1080p Full HD display with a pixel density of 468 pixels-per-inch (ppi), higher than the many rumoured 5-inch 440ppi displays set to hit the market in 2013.
It’s also said to sport a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, 32GB of storage, a 13-megapixel camera and a 2,300mAh battery pack.
The dedicated camera button could imply that the camera is a primary feature of the device this time round. HTC has previously garnered quite a reputation for imaging hardware with its f/2.0 apertures and feature-rich setups.
Recent leaks have shown off what appears to be HTC’s new Sense 5 UI, which looks to be much cleaner and more refined than predecessors with stylish white fonts and icons. This is expected to run over the top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
