New Netgear NeoTV Prime player: Full Web access on TV and much more

LAS VEGAS--Netgear showed off today at CES 2013 the latest in its line of NeoTV streaming players, the NeoTV Prime with Google TV (model GTV100).

The new player offers everything that previous players offered, plus the ability to run apps from Google Play. The player allows you to access a large pool of entertainment including movies, TV shows, and music from major streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, HBO Go, Crackle, Flixter, Rhapsody, Pandora, and more. Google Play also gives you movies and new releases in HD, music albums, and apps designed specifically for the TV.

The new NeoTV Prime supports playback of local media from connected USB storage devices and home media servers. The new player features the Google Chrome Web browser and offers full access to the Web. What's more? It has a search function that enables users to look across multiple sources simultaneously for digital content. And finally with the picture-in-picture feature, you can surf the Web while watching live TV, all at the same time.

The NeoTV Prime supports live TV streaming via a Slingbox player for those who own an Slingbox at home.

The NeoTV Prime comes with a two-sided remote control, featuring a touch pad and directional pad on one side and a full-featured QWERTY keyboard on the other. The new Netgear GTV100 NeoTV Prime with Google TV is available now at the suggested cost of $130.
