Pictures and a roadmap have leaked showing more of the Galaxy Note 8.0 and other devices ahead of MWC 2013
Samsung’s rumoured-then-confirmed Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet can now be seen for the first time after pictures leaked on Twitter.
Appearing to be a scan from a catalogue or roadmap the image, which was tweeted by @ClasificateArg, shows a device closely resembling the 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 2 but with obviously broader proportions.
It also has an accompanying spec sheet listing the display as 8-inches and with a 1280x800 pixel resolution. The rest of the spec line-up includes a 5-megapixel primary camera. A secondary camera is also listed but it’s a bit blurry so it’s difficult to see the rating, we think it’s either 1.1-megapixels or 1.3-megapixels.
Onboard storage is 16GB and there’s microSD too, while the processor is a 1.6GHz quad-core, most likely Exynos, with 2GB of RAM. The device will support HSPA+ 21Mbps 3G connectivity and will of course have an S-Pen stylus, although it’s not clear from the picture where on the device said stylus will be stashed.
At the same time, a Samsung roadmap has leaked via TechnoBuffalo which allegedly could show the product line-up for MWC 2013 in February.
The Galaxy Note 8.0 is part of this roadmap, although it has already been confirmed separately by a Samsung executive.
The spec also matches up both with previous rumour and the included spec list which emerged with the Twitter photo leak.
However, it also lists a 32GB variant, a 4,600mAh battery pack, something specified as ‘E-Book’, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and the display as having ‘Super Clear Display’ LCD technology.
It also confirms the secondary camera to be a 1.3-megapixel shooter.
Most interesting of all is the availability which is listed as March 2013, so it should arrive not long after its announcement at MWC.
Also listed is the Galaxy X Cover 2, an apparently mid-level smartphone handset set to arrive in February with a 4-inch display, Android 4.1, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera and 1,700mAh battery.
Alongside this is the budget Samsung Galaxy Young with a 3.3-inch display, Android 4.1, 1GHz processor (probably single-core) and a 3-megapixel camera. This will arrive in April.
Lastly, there’s the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus which simply boosts the original Galaxy Pocket design with a higher resolution display and is said to arrive in January but this might be an older roadmap and the dates could’ve shifted slightly.
Regardless we’d expect to see all of these around MWC.
