HTC has started teasing the HTC One flagship in a series of short video clips which have now been merged
HTC is expected to unveil its next flagship, now believed to be known as the HTC One, on February 19. Ahead of this launch, the company has started releasing teaser clips showing the exterior of the device in extreme close-up, but an industrious YouTube user has now spliced the footage into a continuous video expose.
We know this is the real deal because its contents come straight from HTC, but really, the shots are so brief and so zoomed-in this could be pretty much any HTC One branded phone we’re looking at. More to the point, there’s nothing to indicate whether the official product tantalisingly showcased in these clips matches up to recently leaked shots and renders.
We think there’s a good chance some of the more recent imagery is accurate though. This picture in particular really hits the mark for us:
We’re thinking it’ll have a high-grade unibody design, while rumours indicate the 4.7-inch SLCD3 Full HD 468ppi display will have an extraordinarily thin bezel.
Part of the video involves a brief look directly into the eye of that new-fangled 4-megapixel camera sensor HTC revealed not too long ago.
This allegedly uses larger-than-average ‘Ultrapixels’ to create finer detail – essentially it’s not supposed to be at any disadvantage compared to competing 13-megpixel flagships but the end result is intended to be a little different.
Power is said to be provided by a high-end Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon S4 chip and of course it’ll run Android Jelly Bean.
Leaked shots of the phone’s interface show what many suspect to be HTC Sense 5, which looks very different from its predecessors with a new font and a cleaner style.
We’re going to be at HTC’s big launch event in London next week, so make sure to check back with us on the day for all the details.
