Motorola receives WindMade Certification

Mother Nature is alive and well, and we’re proud to have taken the pledge and exceeded our expectations in joining the WindMade organization. Our goal is to greatly increase our use of wind and solar resources, to maximize energy efficiency.

From our Director of Sustainability Bill Olson:

“Our reliance on wind power underscores our company-wide commitment to obtaining energy from clean and renewable sources and supports our energy and greenhouse gas reduction goals. WindMade certification validates our sustainability efforts and helps to distinguish our company and its products.”

WindMade certification, which is approved by the Global Wind Energy Council and the United National Global Compact, requires participants to have 25 percent of operations’ power consumption from wind energy in order to qualify for the consumer label. Motorola has 66 percent of the electricity used in U.S. operations coming from wind power.

By more than doubling the minimum requirement for certification, we are grateful to all the people that made this possible, including our customers.
