Over the weekend an early build of Windows Blue leaked onto the internet and is providing an interesting peek at the newest version of Internet Explorer. The new version comes with a tab syncing feature and surprisingly enough is masquerading as Firefox (Gecko). Microsoft has also made additional changes to the User Agent String for the browser.

The tab syncing feature will definitely be useful to those who move back and forth between multiple Windows 8 devices and prefer to keep their work-flow as seamless as possible. Microsoft is also working to move beyond the problems with page rendering on websites with IE specific hacks in place.
In the image below you can see the changes to how Internet Explorer is listed in the User Agent String (now listed as IE versus MSIE in earlier versions) along with the ‘like Gecko’ addition. There are good reasons for the changes to the User Agent String:
