There’s a double-whammy of LG Optimus L-Series 2 news as the Optimus L7 2 has emerged on pre-order in Germany, while in Brazil the Optimus L5 2 has arrived with the promise of an international rollout imminently.
The Optimus L5 2 run Android Jelly Bean on a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and sports a 4-inch IPS LCD display with an 800x480 pixel resolution at 233 pixels-per-inch (ppi).
There’s 4GB of storage onboard with microSD support for cards up to 32GB, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 1,700mAh battery pack. LG’s press release says the device will come to Europe (as well as other markets) soon.
Meanwhile, already in Europe, the Optimus L7 2 has gone up for pre-order on Germany’s Amazon web store for 249 euros (£217) in either black or white.
It features a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display at 217ppi and the same 4GB of onboard memory plus card support as its smaller cousin. It does, however, have a faster processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core MSM8225 chip clocked at 1GHz, 768MB of RAM and an Adreno 203 GPU. Power comes from a larger 2,460mAh battery.
The camera is rated at 8-megapixels, with an LED flash and the phone runs the same combo of Android Jelly Bean together with LG’s custom UI – this will likely share features found on the company’s new flagship, the Optimus G Pro.
Of course, the L-Series 2 phones are aimed to be budget models, if you fancy something a bit beefier check out our hands-on with the LG Optimus G Pro, though we should point out it hasn’t been confirmed for the UK yet.
