Sony Xperia Z Gets Android 4.2.2 Around The World

Earlier this week, the Sony Xperia ZL became the first non-Nexus device to get updated to Android 4.2.2; today, we learn that the Sony Xperia Z is also receiving the update, bringing the software to 10.3.A.0.423.

Regions receiving the update so far are Austria, Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Spain and Taiwan, or any region carrying the Xperia Z with model number C6603. The update changelog states that the 4.2.2 update brings a few goodies like:

• remote phone location app


• new Functionalities widget


• support for microSD cards up to 64GB


• notification bar with quick settings
