Early LG Vu 3 details indicate same old, same old

lg_logo_720The first details for LG’s forthcoming Vu 3 have leaked online and from the sounds of it, we’re in for more of the same old wonky experience. We’d previously heard that the 4:3 aspect ratio was going to stick around and that seems confirmed in the new leaks.

Information obtained thus far point to a 5.2-inch 1280×960 display, a Snapdragon 800 processore, 13-megapixel camera, and support for LTE-A (150Mbps) networks. Presumably running Android 4.2.2 or 4.3 Jelly Bean, the LG Vu 3 has the feeling of a G2-like device with a really strange form factor.

Could the third time be a charm for LG’s (Optimus) Vu line?

Look, we get that the 4:3 aspect ratio is great for reading and is more in line with what our eyes want for books and websites. Unfortunately, two models in and we’re sensing that LG might be better served leaving the R&D for this in the past and time could be better spent on anything else.

Reportedly, the LG Vu 3 will be released in South Korea before the end of September. Should that be the case, we might look for LG to make an announcement at IFA in a few weeks.
