Getting the Perfect “Couple Photo” (Even When You’re Single)

Japanese Instagrammer Keisuke Jinushi (@jinushikeisuke) shares photos on his Instagram account of life with his mysterious girlfriend as she feeds him pastries or squeezes his face affectionately. There’s only one issue: there is no girlfriend.

As Jinushi revealed on his blog early this month, his “couple photos” are actually elaborate selfies. Inspired by popular photos of couples in Japan and his own bachelorhood, Jinushi decided to take matters into his own hands—literally. He applied heavy makeup foundation and bright nail polish to one hand to make it seem more feminine, grabbed his smartphone and started snapping.
