Samsung might well be aping Google with its own pair of smart glasses allegedly in the works under the Gear brand previously seen on its smartwatch, the Samsung Galaxy Gear. The device is said to under preparation for a launch around April or May next year.
The word comes from Russian Twitter-based tech-rumour czar Eldar Murtazin who, in the past has had some pretty good leads based on a close relationship with people inside Nokia. His predictions for other phone-makers have been a bit more hit-and-miss, however, and he’s the only person currently saying Samsung is working on a set of glasses, so do take all this with a handful or two of salty goodness.
Samsung developing own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around april-may under Gear Glass brand

Having said all that, it’s not exactly a ridiculous idea that Samsung could be working on a such a project. Wearable tech has all the trappings of being “the next big thing” with Google Glass setting the ball rolling and every major manufacturer seemingly having a smartwatch in the works.
Samsung’s also pretty quick to pick-up on good ideas, it got the Galaxy Gear out of the gate faster than most and Google has been very open about its Google Glass development, so there’s been plenty of room for other companies to draw inspiration from its publicity and relatively accessible prototype hardware - there are enough testers walking around wearing and using Google Glass for Samsung to have collared at least one of them.
The question is, would they be called Samsung Gear Glass, Samsung Galaxy Glass or Samsung Galaxy Gear Glass? The last one's starting to become a bit of a mouthful.
