Sundar Pichai: The Nexus 5 will not be on Verizon

Verizon customers must be devastated after hearing this, but its true. Google’s Senior VP of Android Sundar Pichai said that Verizon wouldn’t be getting the Nexus 5 – the new Android flagship device. It seems the cold war between Google and Verizon is still on, as we didn’t see the Nexus 4 on Verizon and also Big Red said they will launch Nexus 7 – but no one ever heard anything about it again. Although it seems Google and Verizon are trying to sort it out – because they both know that they have to co-exist.

Verizon is the biggest US carrier, and Google on other hand, is one of the strongest tech giants in the world. Mr. Pichai said that Google is working with Verizon on a set of projects for 2014. He further said:

” Whether Verizon’s collaboration with Google is a modified version of the Nexus 5, a new tablet, or something else entirely remains to be seen — but we’ll have to wait until next year to find out.”

I smell a modified Nexus 5, do you? Anyway, let’s wait and hopefully we might see something. So Verizon users, are you planning to grab the Nexus 5 from T-Mobile or Sprint or you want to wait?
