Weekend Hashtag Project: #WHPmovingshadows

Weekend Hashtag Project is a series featuring designated themes & hashtags chosen by Instagram’s Community Team. For a chance to be featured on the Instagram blog, follow @instagram and look for a photo announcing the weekend’s project every Friday.

The goal this weekend is to capture creative videos that focus on shadows. Some tips to get you started:

• Try to use shadows to tell a story. Have someone perform an action and capture the moment by filming their shadows.


• You can to capture a mood through shadows. Think about how shadows are created naturally as light filters through windows and trees.


• Look for different light sources for different types of shadows: a bright light or direct sun will create a crisp, dark shadow, but filtered light or a cloudy sky will bring softer, grayer shadows.

PROJECT RULES: Please only add the #WHPmovingshadows hashtag to videos taken over this weekend and only submit your own videos to the project. Any video taken then tagged over the weekend is eligible to be featured right here Monday morning!
