Instagram Direct Revealed

Today Instagram held a presser to announce a new feature for their photo and video sharing service called Instagram Direct.

Key features of the Google+ Circle like feature are:

• Control your inbox with requests


• Easy access from your feed


• Send to up to 15 people at once


• Revisit moments as much as you like


• Real-time likes, views and chat

They shared a short video showing the new features in use on a cross country trip:

At the end of the announcement it was revealed that new apps would be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play as of today.

No mention of the still beta and lacking Windows Phone Instagram App.

I guess it is up to Rudy Huyn to integrate those features into his very popular 6tag Instagram app for Windows Phone which is actually more popular than the official beta Instagram released in November.
