Behind the Scenes at Autumn Couture Week in Paris
To see more behind-the-scenes moments from Paris Couture Week, follow @neriad and @parisinfourmonths on Instagram and explore the #pfw hashtag.
Instagrammer Adrien Brunel (@neriad) describes his Paris street photography as a process of getting lost in a daydream and letting moments find him. On Wednesday, when he was invited to the Maison Martin Margiela (@maisonmargiela) autumn couture show in Paris, it was like capturing someone else’s daydream. “It’s marrying two universes,” he says, “connecting the mood of my pictures with inspiration from a designer.”
Fashion houses show couture collections twice a year, typically including intricate, extravagant clothes that are made by hand. The shows are staged with a sense of theater and great attention to detail.
Instagrammer Carin Olsson (@parisinfourmonths), who attended the shows of Christian Dior (@dior) and Jean Paul Gaultier (@jpgaultierofficial) also described them as a departure from reality. “Stepping into the Dior show was like stepping into a different world, she says. “Haute couture is an almost unattainable fantasy. I have to pinch myself because it’s so unreal.”
