Last week was a big one in Las Vegas. CES, one of the largest technology shows of the year, wrapped up on Saturday and HTC was on the ground floor with some big announcements. If you didn’t catch our news, now is your chance!

On Tuesday, January 5. we announced our collaboration with Under Armour on the new UA HealthBox, the world’s first connected fitness system that measures, monitors and manages your sleep, fitness, activity and nutrition.

UA HealthBox, which is designed and manufactured by HTC and powered by UA Record™, includes a fitness band, heart rate monitor and smart scale that connect through UA Record to provide users data and insights that they can use to track and improve their health and fitness. The new UA Record is available in the Google Play and Apple App Store.

Under Armour had a great presence at CES, including a booth area to display HealthBox. They also conducted health and fitness panels with a variety of professional athletes including Tony Romo, Michael Phelps and Buster Posey.

We also announced some key upgrades to the Vive virtual reality system developed in partnership with Valve and are calling this second generation Vive Pre. Most notably, we’ve updated the design of the headset and controllers to offer better ergonomic support and a more comfortable VR experience, and we’ve also added a new front-facing camera that blends the virtual world with the world you’re standing in. With this addition, sitting down, finding your drink and carrying on conversations can all happen without removing your headset.

The updated Vive system was showcased at CES in daily demos as part of numerous VR experiences run by HTC and select partners such as Intel, Dassault Systemes, Virtuix and Audi. We also invited well-known gamers Sky Williams, PhantomL0rd and Dinglederper to try Vive Pre while they were at the show. They’ll all have vlogs posted soon recapping their experiences, so keep an eye on their Twitter accounts for those.

Collectively, Vive and HealthBox won more than 20 awards coming out of CES and we couldn’t be happier. It was a great show for us and, we hope, everyone else who exhibited and attended! To wrap up, we’ve got a few more photos and Tweets to share. If you’d like additional details about the Vive Pre and Vive’s presence at CES, head over to the new Vive blog located right here!
