“#MyStory demonstrates how love and compassion come out on top. Despite the most difficult of circumstances, humanity will prevail.” —Jaz O’Hara left a job in fashion to dedicate her energy full time to the Worldwide Tribe (@theworldwidetribe), a travel blog-turned-charity the 25-year-old from the UK founded.

“I was reading a lot about the ‘Jungle,’ a refugee camp in Calais, France, where 3,000 people were living in the mud hoping to get into the UK. I went with my brothers, and what happened that day will stay with me forever. I went home feeling very emotional about what I’d experienced and the new friends I’d made. I wrote on my Facebook page about the day. I went to sleep and woke up the next morning — that post was shared 65,000 times overnight. The outpouring of generosity was incredible. My brother and I quit our jobs and moved into the camp. We wanted to understand, as best as we could, what people really needed and what we could actually do. I’ve been able to connect with a lot of the young women. Apart from the fact that they come from a different country that’s not safe, we’re the same. We all have responsibility for each other. We are all in this together.” #InternationalWomensDay
