Ballet dancer and model Eric Underwood (@ericunderwood) juggles morning Pilates, ballet classes and rehearsals at London’s Royal Opera House (@royaloperahouse) with castings and photo shoots. “Both ballet and fashion have a lot to do with aesthetics,” the Washington, D.C., native explains. “There’s a huge appreciation from both, but often a lack of knowledge about the other.” Eric fell into dancing by accident. After a failed acting audition, he was tested for flexibility and range of motion. “Before I knew it, I was off in ballet boarding school at the School of American Ballet,” he says. Eric’s mission is to dispel the stereotypical view that ballet is stuffy and snooty. “My idea of ballet is something cool and young and fresh,” he says.
