Experiencing March Madness with @theoregonduck

During NCAA March Madness, every college basketball player has a unique gameday ritual; the Oregon Duck (@theoregonduck), a dancing 6-foot-tall (1.8-meter) waterfowl, is no different. “I provide an offering to my Kevin Bacon cutout from his movie Hollow Man,” the Duck says. To help the team, he takes the fortunes out of cookies and leaves them in the players’ lockers. “I’m not sure if it really helps or if they see them, but per their recent performances, it doesn’t not help.” It’s a great gig — he’s close friends with the mascots from the other Pac-12 schools, once met actress Mila Kunis and shares a snack closet with the cheerleaders because they make him look good. He even maintains a sunny outlook when people step on his giant orange feet and the players don’t shower after practice (he really wishes they’d reconsider that). “Mentally, I’m taking it one day at a time. I’m just excited to be a part of the Madness. And for the food in the press stations. They usually have spicy nuts and hot dogs.” #MarchMadness
