How’s this for a childhood dream? Two friends grew up skateboarding on the same street in Lancashire, England, and turned their shared love of sneakers into a toy company that sells tiny re-creations of Nike Air Maxes, Jordans and more. That’s the story behind Mont Bloc Toy (@montbloctoyuk) and its 30-year-old co-founders John Haworth and James Philips. Working with a South Korea-based designer friend, the pair pick out their favorite sneakers, create a design concept and have the block kits assembled. “It’s a long, arduous process,” John says. “The average sneaker has 150 pieces.” The company, launched in January, is already a hit among international sneaker fanatics. “The community has been hugely supportive. “You can go to any country and talk to another sneakerhead about a new release or their current favorite,” says John, who owns about 50 pairs while James has over 80, including ‘90s-era Air Max models. #AirMaxDay
