(This interview was conducted in Japanese.)
In anticipation of #ChildrensDay in Japan, carp streamers fly fancifully against the blue sky. This year Morio Okada (@_morio_), who lives in Gunma prefecture of Japan, discovered a spot in his hometown full of these banners: Hokubu Sports Park in the city of Ota. “It was really a sight to behold: a vast expanse of orange poppies, pink mountain phlox and blue nemophila flowers, and there, in one corner, all these carp banners dancing in the wind,” he says of the park. “It’s a place that I find myself wanting to visit in the first few days of April every year, when the cherry trees are in full bloom and it’s stunningly beautiful.”
