“I went to school for graphic design. After I got out of college I got a job at this alt weekly. We never really had a budget to hire good photographers, so I went to Best Buy and bought the sweetest camera I could find and just started shooting. After a couple years I was like, ‘Man I enjoy this way more than sitting at a desk. I am going into photography full time.’ I was going to sink or swim, but it was going to be on my own terms.” ––Jeremy Deputat (@jeremydeputat), a 38-year-old music photographer based in Detroit. Since 2009, he has toured with Eminem and Kid Rock, and taken photos of Odd Future, Dr. Dre and many others.
