Every style Mobolaji Dawodu (@mobolajidawodu) captures tells a story. The costume designer and fashion editor credits his attention to detail to his childhood that started in Lagos, Nigeria, before he moved to Richmond, Virginia. “Traveling a lot when I was young and growing up in such extreme places made me more observant,” he says. Mobolaji moved to New York at 18 then landed an internship at the Dolce & Gabbana showroom where he began assisting stylists. Today, he serves as the fashion editor for GQ Style. “Observing life is the best research,” Mobolaji says. “Looking in the past and looking in the present in many ways dictates the future, especially in fashion.”
