#PlayStationE3, & festival survival

It’s Friday again, which means one thing – it’s time for our weekly roundup of what’s been going on in the world of Sony and Android. It’s been a hectic week, as the annual E3 press conference took place in LA. Lots of exciting announcements were made, in particular from our friends over at PlayStation®. First up, there’s a wealth of great content coming to PlayStation® 4. A few titles include: Days Gone (SIE Bend Studio), Spider-Man (Insomniac Games), LEGO® Star Wars™: The Force Awakens™ (TT Games and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment), God of War (SIE Santa Monica Studio), DEATH STRANDING (Kojima Productions), FINAL FANTASY® XV (Square Enix), RESIDENT EVIL®7 biohazard (Capcom Co.) Let us know which one you’re most looking forward to.

playstation-vrThe excitement didn’t stop there for gaming fans, as it was also announced that PlayStation® VR will launch 13th  October 2016. Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission from Electronic Arts, and Batman: Arkham VR from RockSteady and Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment are just a few of the VR titles that will be available at launch.

Elsewhere in the world of Sony, it has just been announced that there are new plans to completely reimagine the Sony Building, which houses the Sony Showroom in Tokyo’s Ginza district. With any luck, the project (Ginza Sony Park Project) is set to be complete in seven years. It’s also a very fitting way to mark Sony’s 70th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Sony Building. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing it.

Periscope logoMoving into the world of Android, the team at Periscope had some great news this week. If you’ve ever wanted to livestream to your Twitter audience, it has now been made really easy for you. Twitter’s Periscope button is now available to everyone using its Android app. When you’re starting a new tweet, you can tap a “live” button in the media selection to hop over to Periscope (it’ll offer a download if you don’t already have the app) and start broadcasting. We’re looking forward to giving it a go.

Finally, festival season is fast approaching, so this week we wanted to give you a few tips and tricks to help you survive. From making sure you keep your phone charged, to ensuring you create great memories, we’ve covered everything to make sure you have the best time. Make sure you take a look.

It looks like that is all we have time for this week. To stay up to date on the latest news you can follow us on @SonyMobileNews.
