A few years ago, beauty vlogger Stephanie Villa (@soothingsista) was introverted and shy. “Through recording videos and talking to people online, I was able to put myself out there and get over my fear of connecting in real life,” the 25-year-old from California says. Today, thousands of fans watch her video tutorials, reviews and lookbooks. While Stephanie says she knows people think the beauty world is all about being self-centered, she works hard to bust that myth. “I have met some of the most generous and humble people through this community,” she says. “Beauty is all about self-love. Wear what makes you happy. Do your makeup however you want. If you feel beautiful inside and out — that is what matters.”
