Even on the streets of Harajuku, brimming with eye-catching outfits, Japanese model Haruka Kurebayashi (@kurebayashiii) stands out from the crowds. She’s known for her “Decora” (short for “decorative”) style of fashion — a kaleidoscope of “kawaii” (cute) motifs and bright colors that’s impossible to ignore. “I love when I find designs that make me feel like I’ve time-slipped into a different era,” Haruka explains. She shops for vintage and handmade clothes in Harajuku, but also makes the most of hand-me-downs from her grandma and friends. “Every single person is unique, and the clothes that people choose show off their true individuality,” she says. “I like Harajuku fashion in particular because it really shows off a person’s inner-self.”
