As you may have noticed, Google has announced its brand new, second-gen Pixel series as the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 smartphones and, following in the footsteps of several other manufacturers - most notably Apple, which started the trend - it has ditched the 3.5mm headphone jack on both handsets.
As well as launching the phones, Google revealed the Made For Google program of third-party accessories made to Google's specifications, specifically for the firm's own devices, including the Pixel 2 phones. Amongst these Made For Google (let's abbreviate that to MFG, shall we?) accessories, there are headphones made to work with the Pixel 2 series, which connect via the Type-C USB port.
A Google spokesperson has made a post on the Google Groups page which reveals a range of headphones and talks about how ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack allows for a "bezel-less" future for Google's hardware.

It's not an exhaustive list, however, as headphones and audio adapters simply need built-in digital audio support via Type-C or wireless in order to work with the Pixel 2 series.
"We want to provide a little more information about headphone options for the Pixel 2," Google's post explained, "The Pixel 2 still comes with a headphone jack but we have moved to USB-C, a standard that is becoming commonplace in the best phones and laptops of today. Moving to the USB-C audio port with Pixel 2 allows us to provide a better audio and digital experience, as we move towards a bezel-less future."
"We realize that some of you might be looking for USB-C headphones, and we want to provide some guidance around headphone compatibility with Pixel 2 devices. The main thing to keep in mind is that Pixel 2 devices are compatible with USB-C headphones that support digital audio."
