For a matter of minutes, Walmart had a new product called the Google Home Mini listed on their store ahead of the launch at the Google event tomorrow. The store also allowed pre-orders of the product for those quick enough to place the pre-order.
The speaker was available online for a few minutes starting at 12pm EST today. This suggests that someone possibly hit the button to make the product live a day early because Google’s event is expected to start tomorrow, October 4, at the same time.
This isn’t the first leak for Google’s upcoming products that will be announced at the Google event tomorrow. Two weeks ago Droid-Life and other sites reported on leaks of nearly every major product expected to be announced at tomorrow’s event, including the Google Home Mini. However, those leaks previously reported on were primarily just images of the devices. As a result of Walmart, more details of the Google Home Mini have been revealed.
Google Home Mini Details
The box the Home Mini comes in is 4.53 x 4.53 x 4.72 inches. While it is known that it isn’t a perfectly square device it can be assumed that it will at least be about 4-inches wide. It will weigh less than a pound, and while it will go for $50, you can get it for a lower $25 at Walmart if you use Google Express to pay for the order.
More details (although there aren’t many more useful details that haven’t been leaked) will be provided tomorrow after the launch of the new product at the Google event when the device is formally listed for sale on retailers worldwide.
You will be able to keep up with the new products launched at the event tomorrow on our live blog of the event. The live blog will start tomorrow at 5pm BST (12pm EST), and can be found at this link.
