Vivo has officially launched its much-anticipated smartphone, the Vivo V9, in India today. The launch of the V9 here in India happens just one day after the handset was officially unveiled in Thailand yesterday. Speaking of this newly announced device in-short, it succeeds the Vivo V7 that was launched in India last year. Basically, the handset is quite similar to that of Apple’s iPhone X that comes with the notch at the front offering a 19:9 aspect ratio. As the selfie shooter smartphone from Vivo goes, the V9 is not an exception at all, as it features a 24-megapixel selfie camera with a f/2.0 aperture lens.
Vivo V9: Features
The Vivo V9 sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with Full HD+ resolution 1080 x 2280, resulting in a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor, and comes packed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard memory. For the further storage expansion, you get a dedicated microSD card slot option that allows storage enlargement up to 256GB. On the software front, the V9 boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box that is customised with Funtouch OS 4.0 user interface.
In terms of imaging, the smartphone features a dual camera setup consisting of 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensor. The rear-facing cameras offer 4K video at 30fps along with Full HD video at 30fps. At the front, the V9 comes with a 24-megapixel resolution selfie snapper that is paired with a f/2.0 aperture lens. The selfie shooter is accompanied by a soft LED flash, and it can capture Full HD video. Connecivty-wise, the phone has dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and a 3.5mm audio port. The whole package is powered by a 3260mAh battery that does not have any kind of fast charging support.
Vivo V9: Pricing and Availability
The V9 retails for around Rs.22,990 ($ 353) in India, and it will go on sale starting from April 1st. The handset will be available from Amazon India, Flipkart, and as well as all major Vivo’s offline stores in India. Pre-bookings for the Vivo V9 is already live on Amazon India and Flipkart starting from today. The smartphone comes in three colour options – Pearl Black, Sapphire Blue and Champagne Gold.
