Oukitel K8’s big 5,000 mAh battery is put through a power consumption test (Promoted)

Battery life is a perennial problem for smartphone owners. While our handsets have become faster and more powerful over the years, phone batteries often last less than a day under heavy use.

That’s an issue the upcoming Oukitel K8 aims to solve. The device is expected to pack a large 5,000 mAh battery and should be able to offer great battery life. And to prove exactly this point, Oukitel has put the K8 through a power consumption test. See the video below.

According to the company, the K8 can support 4 hours of continuous gaming at the brightest screen level and maximum volume.

On average spending 1 hour on the phone and doing things like listening to music, online voice call or reading an ebook drain around 10% to 15% of power. An hour and a half of playing online movies ends up draining around 20%.

Oukitel concludes that if you spend 4 hours on the phone each day, the K8 will be able to support 2 days of battery life.

What are the other specs of the Oukitel K8?

Apart from the generous battery, the upcoming K8 will sport a 6-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is a MediaTek M6750T, working in combination with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

OUKITEL K8 main specs officially released

When it comes to cameras, Oukitel has added a pretty basic 5-megapixel selfie camera. While on the back, there’s a dual-camera system comprised of a 13-megapixel main sensor and secondary 2-megapixel one. The rear-cameras are vertically oriented, with the fingerprint scanner placed below.

The K8 features rounded edges, for improved ergonomics. What’s more, it has a layer of oleophobic coating that protects your device while in use in your hands.

The phone is expected to launch soon with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Pricing info is yet to be revealed. How much would you be willing to pay for such a phone?
