LG says Nexus 4 shortage will end in February

Nexus 4 supplies should be back to normal from February, according to an LG director

LG says production of the Nexus 4 is now ramping up and there will be no more ‘market strain’ in terms of supply shortages by February.

According to French news site Challenges, Cathy Robin, a director with LG Mobile France, said in an interview that Google’s predictions based on previous Nexus sales were much lower than the actual demand.

She added that production is currently being boosted to meet the rapid sales we’ve seen since the Nexus 4 launched, where, famously, supplies ran out in 30 minutes flat.

Robin also denied the rumours and allegations that the Nexus 4 was sold at a loss and added that LG and Google had agreed a 'reasonable price'.

The news follows previous reports where Google blamed LG for the shortage, LG has already denied responsibility once but this latest statement cements its position further and it firmly places the blame at Google's door.

Still, finger pointing aside, on the plus side more Nexus 4’s are being manufactured so we should soon see the shortage come to an end.
