How to Change or Disable the Default “Sent From Windows Mail” Email Signature

image
Windows 8 includes a pretty good mail client, however one of the things we don’t like is the fact that it adds a signature to the bottom of your mail.

Changing or Disabling the Signature

The first thing you will need to do is navigate to the Start Screen. This can be done from the Charms Bar by swiping in from the left hand side of your screen on a touch device or simply pressing the Windows key on your PC.
Then launch the Mail App.

Now go ahead and open the Charms Bar again, this time selecting the Settings Charm.
The thing to note is that the Charms Bar is really context sensitive, hence we now get options related to the settings of the Mail app. We will want to head into account settings.
Then choose the account for which you want to change or disable the email signature.
You can see below that by default the signature is enabled and set to “Sent from Windows Mail”, if you wish to disable signatures altogether, you can simply toggle the switch.
Alternatively, you can leave the signature enables and just change it to something a little more useful.
Remember that you will have to do this for each of your accounts.
