HTC One press shots leak

The HTC One has leaked ahead of launch with what appear to be official product shots showing the design and Sense 5 UI

Allegedly official press shots or renderings have leaked of the HTC M7, now thought to be the HTC One, ahead of its launch in a matter of hours at time of writing.

The images show a similar form factor to what we’ve seen leaked before and by now it seems likely that, whether these photos are official, real or fake, that regardless this is probably what the HTC One will look like.

It’s got a slightly BlackBerry Z10 or iPhone 5 flavour to it with a design which appears to ‘cap’ the display panel with the unibody chassis at the top and bottom, while a narrow bezel runs down the longer edges.

As with previous HTC One models such as the HTC One X, the white version looks particularly appealing with its contrasting colour scheme.

The pictures come via French tech site nowhereelse.fr, with Phonearena reporting the unibody design is made from metal, though what kind of metal isn’t mentioned. Previously HTC made the One S out of aluminium and ceramic materials, so perhaps this is the material of choice once again?

We can also see some of the previously leaked Sense 5 UI with its new icons and typeface. The new images sit with a video we reported leaked earlier today, which showed what appeared to be a tile-based content aggregation feed.

The HTC One is rumoured to have a 4.7-inch Full HD display with a 1920x1080 pixel resolution and a Qualcomm quad-core processor from the Snapdragon S4 family.

It’ll also sport a new camera setup, rated at 4-megapixels but using ‘Ultrapixel’ technology to produce sharper images – it’s been compared to Nokia’s PureView oversampling technique but we understand it works quite differently.

Phonearena reports some US pricing claiming a 16GB model will cost $199.99 and a 32GB version at $299.99. That would translate £128.85 and £193.28 in UK money, which sounds a bit low for a premium flagship so we think a direct translation to £199 and £299 is more likely. Take the pricing and memory options with a pinch of salt, however.
