Samsung Galaxy S4 ‘definitely’ launching March 14

More sources indicate Samsung's Galaxy S4 flagship will be revealed on March 14

Rumours that the Samsung Galaxy S4 will launch on March 14 are apparently right on the money, according to new information from several sources which corroborates with the claims.

Prominent prediction wizard Eldar Murtazin took to Twitter in the usual fashion claiming that the HTC One, which will be launched in a matter of hours, would see poor sales against a ‘big announcement’ on March 14.

‘Save the date for a big announcement – March 14 :) And keep silence ;) HTC will miss HTC One sales again :( Like it was in 2012,’ he said.

Shortly afterwards, another source known for sometimes hitting the mark with its rumours, SamMobile, added that the Murtazin’s tweet was a reference to the Galaxy S4 launch in New York.

The Verge has also reported that its own sources ‘familiar with Samsung’s plans’ confirm that March 14 is ‘definitely’ the launch date for ‘one or more’ new devices in the US ‘one of which is presumed to be the Galaxy S IV.’

The Galaxy S4 is rumoured to feature a 5-inch 440ppi display and a next-gen Samsung Exynos 5 Octa eight-core processor based on ARM’s Cortex-A15 and Cortex-A7 architecture and clocked at 1.8GHz.

The Verge’s unnamed sources claimed there will be a bigger leap in terms of ‘cool new features’ between the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 than there was between the previous flagships.

The sources also commented on the Galaxy Note 8.0, expected to debut at Mobile World Congress. Allegedly the widely leaked photos of this device show an older mockup which was described as ‘old news’, suggesting a re-designed model will appear in Barcelona.

This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has re-invented a Galaxy Note device, it previously debuted the original Note 10.1 at Mobile World Congress 2012 but when it re-appeared later in the year it was a very different animal.
