The Samsung Galaxy S4 will keep the plastic shell as seen on the Galaxy S3 and S2 before it
Samsung's Galaxy S4 will feature a plastic chassis just like the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S2.
Rather than opting for the more premium looking aluminium as seen on HTC's One device and many more before it, Samsung will stick to lower-grade materials.
According to SamMobile, the sides of the device will be made from aluminium, but the back plate will be plastic.
Well-known mobile blogger Eldar Murtazin has also claimed to have seen the device and he confirmed it is made from plastic.
According to Samsung's executive vice president of mobile, Y.H Lee, Samsung will continue to use plastic rather than the aluminium, glass and polycarbonate as seen on other smartphones released recently.
The executive was referred to on CNET, although no direct quote was provided.
The use of plastic will apparently cut down manufacture time, . Apparently when the company decides which materials to make their devices from, they don't just consider 'the aesthetic quality of the device', but instead the smartphone's 'manufacturability and durability'.
This will come as a disappointment to some. After all, it was the Galaxy S3's plastic design that made us feel a little down with the handset.
The internals were fantastic, it just feels a little cheap in the hand in comparison to other devices.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is probably the most hyped device around at the moment.
The device is said to feature a 5-inch, full 1080p display with a pixel density of 441, a quad-core processor or 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, but nothing solid has been released yet - it's all simply speculation.
With rumours changing every day, one thing's for sure - the Samsung Galaxy S4 will launch on March 14 in New York.
