HTC And Beats By Dre Partnership Could Be Over Soon

Wall Street Journal is reporting today that Dr Dre. and his associates are considering buying back the remaining 25% stake HTC has in their Beats By Dre business, terminating their tentative agreement that hasn’t really done the wonders either party had been hoping for.

The Beats audio that has been featured in quite a few HTC phones of late, most notably in the HTC One, which used its dual front speakers to great effect. Personally, I thought the speakers were really great, if gimmicky, but essentially failed to be one of the greater selling points of the HTC One as a whole.

While it will be sad to see the partnership between HTC and Beats likely come to an end, it does leave open the door for new agreements to be made, and the noise that HTC has been making with its ‘Change’ campaign could bode well for the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer.
