O2 has officially taken the wraps off its 4G tariff deals, including pricing plans with exclusive music, sport and gaming content packages.
O2’s 4G network is due to rollout from August 29 and customers wishing to adopt the faster speed services will be able to get a SIM only contract from £26 per month or a contract with an included 4G handset from £32 per month. All tariff deals include free access to O2’s Wi-Fi hotspots, of which there are currently 9,000 across the UK.
The basic £26 per month SIM only package will net you 1GB of data per month with unlimited minutes and texts, while the top-end SIM only deal has a 5GB allowance at £36 per month. Additional data bolt-ons can be purchased at £6 for 500MB or £10 for 1GB.
Customers can use O2 Refresh to get a combined device and 4G package with separate tariffs for both the phone and Airtime, meaning you can change your phone whenever you like by paying off the difference. These start from £22 per month for 1GB of 4G data and go as high as £37 per month for an 8GB allowance. There’s a range of handsets to choose from at between £10 and £25 per month
All O2 4G customers will have free access to Priority Sports, exclusive gaming services and, for the first 12 months, O2 4G Tracks. O2 4G Tracks gives users an extensive catalogue of music, including the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart and ‘a unique collection of playlists and videos, handpicked by artists.’
Priority Sports nets you exclusive sporting video content, including interviews and behind-the-scenes access for a variety of events, including O2 England Rugby at Twickenham and NVA Live at the O2 arena. Users can download the O2 Priority App with a text code.
O2 has signed a deal with Gameloft for multiplayer mobile gaming and users can access Asphalt 8: Airborne, Modern Combat 4: Zero Jour and Zombiewood via 4G and playing these titles will not deduct from their monthly data allowance.
‘Existing O2 customers with a 4G ready device can transfer to a 4G tariff without needing to sign a new agreement,’ said O2 in a statement.
O2 also revealed it would unveil ‘Pay&Go’ prepay 4G tariffs ‘before the end of the year.’
