We know HTC is working on a smartwatch, the company has admitted as much itself. We also know it will run on Android Wear much like the LG G Watch and the Motorola Moto 360. Images of the smartwatch leaked from @evleaks a couple of days ago that showed the front of the wearable. The hardware will stay the same but the UI has been created by a non-official source so it wasn’t a full look at the watch.
It now seems the HTC smartwatch, for lack of a better name, has been spotted in a promotional video for the company. Some keen eyes watching the video you can see below have noticed the wearable device sat on the table. The video was released on July 9 and has gone a full two weeks without being spotted.
The video is all about design, one employee states, “if it’s not essential, we leave it out”.
You’ll find the wearable devices on the table at around the 35 second mark in the video below.
Even though it’s a square timepiece it’s looking much more watch-like than previous smartwatch attempts from other manufacturers. Especially with the strap that is easier to see in the picture provided by @evleaks.
While the mockup shows a Sense 6 style UI, such an overlay won't be appearing on the real deal - it'll use stock Android Wear like every other device so far.
