We detail some of the best applications and games for the HTC One
With its 4.7-inch 1080p SLCD 3 display and pixel density of 468ppi, the HTC One has one of the best displays ever included on a smartphone. It trounces Apple’s iPhone 5 and even beats Sony’s Xperia Z with regards to pixel densities thanks to its slightly smaller display. So far, it’s the best setup of 2013.
But the HTC One is more than just a display. You’ve also get Qualcomm’s new 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage at your disposal. It’s also LTE-ready and runs Android Jelly Bean (version 4.1) giving you access to Google Now, Project Butter, and of course Google Play.
Here’s a selection of applications and games that take full advantage of the One’s gorgeous HD display and bleeding-edge hardware. Needless to say, all of these apps and games have been road-tested, used, and abused by team KYM.
HTC One - Netflix
Netflix is the number one video-on-demand service in the US, featuring literally thousands of TV shows, films, and documentaries. The UK version isn’t quite up to scratch yet having less content than its US counterpart, but you can access the US version of Netflix from the UK by using a VPN service like BolehVPN.
Once you’ve signed up for an account you can get Netflix on a whole host of phones, tablets, TVs, and gaming consoles. This is a must have app – particularly when used with a VPN – for anyone that enjoys film and television but doesn’t want to cough up £30-odd a month for Sky.
HTC One - Shadow Gun: Dead Zone
Basically a multiplayer version of the truly awesome Shadow Gun. With the HTC One’s 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 processor and its accompanying Adreno 320 GPU, you have one of the best gaming smartphones currently available. Push it to the limit with multiplayer over 4G with this awesome FPS.
