مبادرة رواد بلا حدود: أهمية دعم المشاريع الصغيرة التكنولوجية

مع بدء التحضيرات في دبي لإستضافة معرض EXPO 2020، هذا الحدث العالمي الكبير الذي يتطلب تجهيزات على كافة الأصعدة خاصة السياحية لاستقبال ٢٠ مليون زائر يتوقع وصولهم. تبرز الحاجة لإقامة مشاريع صغيرة ومتوسطة  ومعارض  وفعاليات،  توفر خدمات متنوعة، وتمنح القدرة على استيعاب التدفق الكبير المتوقع، وستكون الشركات الصغرى والمتوسطة هي المستفيد الأكبر منها.

من هنا، وفي كلمة ألقاها خلال مشاركته في مؤتمر "مدينة دبي للمعيشة الذكية ٢٠١٤". أطلق رائد الأعمال "محمد جهماني" مبادرة فريدة من نوعها أسماها "رواد بلا حدود"، تدور فكرتها حول فتح الحدود الجغرافية والفكرية والمالية أمام رواد الأعمال العرب لإتاحة المجالات أمامهم لتوسيع نطاق أعمالهم في الوطن العربي. وأكد جهماني أن تأسيس شركة في أي من الأسواق العربية يمثل تحدياً كبيراً بسبب عوائق جمة من أبرزها مشكلة التوطين، والحاجة إلى رأس مال كبير، ومشاكل الحصول على التأشيرات، ووجود قيود على جنسيات معينة.

وأوضح أنه على الرغم من تنظيم العديد من المؤتمرات والندوات، وإطلاق المنظمات والمبادرات، فإنه لم يتم وضع أي خطة على أرض الواقع تدعم رواد الأعمال والشركات الناشئة في المنطقة، وتوصّل إلى ضرورة سن قوانين ووضع خطط محددة من شأنها تخفيف أو حتى إزالة المعوقات، تدعم رواد الأعمال خاصة المختصون منهم في مجال التكنولوجيا. خاصة وأن الفضاء الرقمية والعلمي مليء بالطاقات الشابة والمواهب المتعددة، فنرى العديد من الخدمات التكنولوجية التي يقدمها هؤلاء الشبان من خلال المواقع الخاصة بهم أو البحث عن عروض عمل على مواقع الإعلانات المجانية وأحياناً على مواقع خاصة فقط بالخدمات.

 وضرب مثلاً يبين صواب رأيه: "بما أن دولة الإمارات توجه أنظارها نحو الفضاء لإطلاق أول سفينة فضاء عربية إلى المريخ عام ٢٠٢١، فينبغي البدء في إنشاء قاعدة أساسية لجيل يفكر بلا حدود". منوهاً بأن القائمة التي نشرتها مجلة "أرابيان بيزنس" حول "أغنى ٥٠ شخصية عربية" والتي شملت رواد أعمال من مختلف القطاعات، وأصحاب رؤوس الأموال والشركات الكبرى والمستثمرين، لم تضم ولو رجل أعمال واحد يحمل أجندة تضع في أولوياتها برامج لدعم وتمكين رواد الأعمال والشركات الناشئة.

وانتقد جهماني تركيز استثمارات المؤسسات الإعلامية الكبرى على ترويج برامج فنية وتجارية واكتشاف مغنين وفنانين، مما يؤثر سلباً على الجيل الصاعد، وأن قطاع التعليم لا يشتمل على منهج دراسي حول ريادة الأعمال، مما يتطلب البدء بتوعية الأبناء منذ الصغر حول إدارة الأعمال.

واقترح جهماني حصول رائد الأعمال على رخصة تجارية وحيدة تسمح له بالعمل في أي دولة عربية، وجواز سفر يكافيء جواز السفر الدبلوماسي لدخول أي دولة عربية بدون عوائق لممارسة أعماله التجارية بيسر ورياحية. وختم كلمته بالقول: "إذا لم يكن هناك منافسة، فليس هناك أي تحفيز للتفكير الإبداعي، إذ أن ذلك سوف يجعلك تلعب وحدك وتفكر وحدك".

German P2P lending startup auxmoney raises $12m from Index, Union Square Ventures

Auxmoney, the Düsseldorf, Germany-based operator of an online marketplace for peer-to-peer loans, has secured $12 million from Index Ventures and Union Square Ventures.

Union Square Ventures in particular is an interesting investor for auxmoney, as it has also backed a US-based company in the same space, namely Lending Club. Both Index Ventures and Union Square are investors in loan marketplace Funding Circle to boot.

Facebook trials tweaked single-column Timeline design

Facebook is experimenting with a new single-column Timeline design for users in New Zealand, shifting status updates and shared content to the right-hand side while adding a refreshed ‘About’ section on the left.

The trial could be affecting only a select number of users in the country and follows a slightly different profile redesign that was rolled out to some users there earlier this year.

CloudFlare Was Down Due To Edge Routers Crashing, Taking Down 785,000 Websites

Security and caching service CloudFlare was been down for close to an hour due to an issue with its edge routers. As the service adds a layer between 785,000 websites and their users in order to speed up traffic and prevent DDoS attacks and other security issues, all of those websites were affected — 4chan was one of them.

“At around 9:47 UTC (1:47 AM in California), a change got pushed out. It caused the edge routers in our network to crash,” co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince told us over the phone. “I don’t want to throw the routers’ vendor under the bus, but it caused them to crash. If you sent a packet to one of our IP addresses, you would get back a response that there was no router,” he continued.

Even though the operations team is monitoring the service 24/7, the routers crashed in such a way that they had to be manually rebooted. It means calling all the data centers around the world and reverting the rule. The DNS and proxy servers were perfectly fine, they were just unreachable.

“Starting about 30 minutes after the first report, the routers started coming online,” Prince said. But for a little while, the service was still not available because all the traffic was redirected to the first data centers that were going back online. It took about an hour to see normal traffic going in and out of CloudFlare’s servers.

“This is a completely unacceptable event to us,” Prince said. “In our four years of life, this is our third significant outage,” he continued.

The company’s own website and status page were down, giving an Error 502. The Twitter status account was its only communication channel still available.

CloudFlare generates so many pageviews that it would be the tenth website in the world. Back in September, the company announced at TechCrunch Disrupt SF that it served 70 billion monthly pageviews to 600 million unique visitors. Prince corrected that number and claimed that the service now serves “well over 100 billion pageviews” every month.

Its downtime shows developers that relying on a third-party service can lead to some issues. In CloudFlare’s case, the service handles a crucial task, delivering traffic.

[New Feature] LG Touch10 Monitor: A Perfect Match for Windows 8 em style=

Step 1: Find and purchase an RCA patch bay
Finding an RCA patch bay is probably the hardest step. There are tons of used ones on eBayand other sites like Google Shopping and GuitarCenter.com. You might also find them in local electronics shops or music stores. They range in price from about $20 to $50 depending on the model. Once you have your patch bay in hand it's time to connect your consoles.

Step 2: Connect your patch bay to the AV input on the back of your tele

Android 4.2.2 now shows ‘Time Left’ for Google Play downloads in Notification Area

The mad dash to figure out what is new in Android 4.2.2 is on. We do know that the Bluetooth bug faced by millions is apparently resolved. Another new addition is the apparent time left on a download based on your connection speed. As you can see in the screenshot that was sent into Droid-Life, it clearly shows 4 minutes left on the additional files download for SHADOWGUN: Deadzone. The Play Store is still registering as version 3.10.10, which is the newest one from back in December.
I checked this addition out on my Galaxy S III running stock software, Android 4.1.1, and I am not seeing the time left information. As you can see in my screenshot below. Yes, I went in and installed the same game even to make sure.

Recently we took a look at how you can take Gmail further by enabling some of the extra features that are available in the experimental Labs section. If you use Google Calendar to manage your schedule, there are numerous tools and options that can be added through the use of Calendar-specific Labs. Today, we will take a look to see just what’s available.

Just as with Gmail, Google Calendar Labs can be accessed through Settings. Unlike Gmail, you can jump straight to Labs rather than have to navigate through other settings first. Click the gear icon to the upper right of the Calendar page and select Labs from the menu before browsing through the list of what’s available.

There are far fewer Labs to explore for Calendar, but that does not diminish their value – there are some real gems to be found here. Out of the box Calendar is easy enough to use and a valuable addition to your time management, but there is always room for improvement.

الأردن تستضيف منتدى ربيع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات العربي في مارس المقبل

ستنطلق فعاليات النسخة السادسة من منتدى الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات للشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا في السادس والسابع من شهر مارس المقبل، وذلك في البحر الميت بالأردن تحت رعاية جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني.

وتشير دراسة أبرزها موقع “Discover Digital Arabia” للإحصائيات أن معدل نمو صناعة الالعاب الرقمية في منطقة الشرق الاوسط يبلغ 46,6%، وانّ عدد مرات البحث عن كلمة ” العاب” على محرك البحث ” جوجل” في السعودية لوحدها يبلغ 24 مليون مرة شهرياً، كما أن نسبة مستخدمي “العاب الانترنت” في السعودية تقدر بنسبة 65% من اجمالي مستخدمي الانترنت السعوديين، فيما تصل النسبة الى 56% في مصر، والى 46% في الاردن.

وفي دراسة اخرى اصدرتها مجموعة ” المرشدون العرب” – المتخصصة في دراسات اسواق الاتصالات والاعلام العربية – خلال الربع الاول من العام الماضي، ظهر بان عدد مستخدمي الالعاب العربية على شبكة “فيسبوك” بلغ مع نهاية العام 2011 قرابة 3 ملايين مستخدم.

وذكرت الدراسة بان عدد العاب الانترنت الجماعية المتوافرة باللغة العربية قد زاد منذ اطلاق أول لعبة باللغة العربية في سبتمبر 2007 لتصل الى 135 لعبة في نهاية 2011، ويشمل هذا العدد 95 لعبة جماعية و 40 لعبة اجتماعية متوفرة على “فيسبوك” باللغة العربية.

يجدر الإشارة إلى أن عدد مستخدمي الانترنت في المنطقة العربية يقدر بأكثر من 100 مليون مستخدم حسب أخر التقديرات، منهم حوالي 46 مليون مستخدم لشبكة “فيسبوك” ، كما تظهر التقديرات بأنّ قاعدة اشتراكات الخدمة الخلوية في المنطقة العربية تضم نحو 360 مليون اشتراك، وانّ نسبة تصل الى 50% من اجمالي مستخدمي اجهزة الهواتف المتنقلة في منطقة الشرق الاوسط هم مستخدمون لأجهزة الهواتف المتنقلة الذكية.

نوكيا تطرح الهاتف Asha 310 بشريحتي اتصال ودعم شبكات “واي فاي”

أزاحت شركة “نوكيا” الستار عن هاتفها الذكي Asha 310 الذي يدعم استخدام شريحتي اتصال شبكات “واي فاي” اللاسلكية، ويندرج تحت فئة الهواتف الذكية منخفضة التكلفة.

ويتيح الهاتف الجديد في عائلة Nokia Asha للمستخدم التبديل بكل سهولة بين شريحتي الاتصال دون غلق الهاتف معتمداً على تقنية Easy Swap Dual SIM، وبدعمه لشبكة “واي فاي” يعد أول هاتف يجميع بين ميزتي الشريحتين ودعم “واي فاي” في سلسة هواتف “نوكيا” الذكية تلك.

وتستطيع تقنية Easy Swap Dual SIM تسجيل وحفظ ملفات فريدة لـ5 شرائح اتصالات، ويستطيع المستخدمون تخصيص شرائح للرسائل النصية، والمكالمات الهاتفية، والإتصال بالإنترنت، والإنتقال بينها وفقاً للحاجة.

ويملك الهاتف الذكي Asha 310 شاشة لمس من نوع TFT مقاومة للخدوش بقياس 3 بوصة، بالإضافة إلى كاميرا خلفية بدقة 2 ميجا بكسل.

ويقدم هاتف Asha 310 أيضاً متصفح Nokia Xpress Browser الذي يوفر تجربة تصفح سريعة وسلسة، مع دعم تقنية ضغط بيانات الإنترنت بنسبة تصل إلى 90%، الأمر الذي يوفر الكثير من المال على المستخدم.

وستطرح “نوكيا” الهاتف Asha 310 في أسواق الشرق الأوسط وافريقيا، وآسيا، والهند، والبرازيل خلال الربع الأول الجاري من 2013، وبسعر يبلغ 102 دولاراً أميركياً، وبألوان الأسود والأبيض والذهبي.

دراسة: البرمجيات الخبيثة تستوطن بكثرة حواسب الشرق الاوسط

نشرت شركة “مايكروسوفت” مؤخراً تقريراً يتحدث عن نسب انتشار البرمجيات الخبيثة حول العالم، وهو التقرير الذي أوضح أن الكثير من البلدان العربية تعاني من كثرة معدلات انتشار تلك النوعية من البرمجيات الضارة.

وذكر التقرير أن البلدان التي تتوفر فيها حواسب شخصية كثيرة وتهتم بمواضيع الصحّة بالإضافة إلى استقرار نظام الدولة فيها تكون نسب اصابة الأجهزة فيها بالبرمجيات الخبيثة قليلة، مقارنةً بنسب عالية في البلدان التي تكون سرعات الاتصال بالإنترنت فيها ضعيفة، مع معدل جرائم عالي.

وفي اختبار أجرته الشركة على 105 بلد حول العالم، اعتمدت فيه على 34 عامل اقتصادي واجتماعي مثل إجمالي الدخل والاستقرار السياسي و الاقتصادي، واستخدام “فيسبوك” بالإضافة إلى عدد الحواسب لكل فرد، وجدت أن أفضل دول العالم في الاختبار لديها 5 أجهزة مصابة من بين كل 1000 جهاز، وهي الدول في أوروبا الغربية والشرقية.

أما أسوأ دول العالم في الاختبار، فيوجد لديها 18 جهاز مصاب من بين كل 1000 جهاز، وهي دول الشرق الأوسط، وأفريقيا، وأمريكا اللاتينية.

وتعد مصر والمغرب واليمن وسلطنة عمان من أكثر الدول التي لديها أجهزها مصابة في المنطقة العربية، تليها دول الخليج التي لديها ما بين 10 إلى 15 جهاز مصاب من بين كل 1000 جهاز.

واستعانت مايكروسوفت بأداة إزالة البرمجيات الخبيثة الخاصة الموجودة على أكثر من 600 مليون جهاز حول العالم، من أجل الحصول على هذه النسب.

More Surface Pro Devices Heading to Retail Outlets

During the weekly #WinChat on Twitter, which is held each Tuesday afternoon from 12-1 PM PST, Panos Panay revealed that more hardware is making its way to retail outlets in response to the demand for Microsoft Surface Pro Windows 8 devices.

The #WinChat is a weekly event which focus on some sort of Microsoft related technology and this weeks session was all about Microsoft Surface Pro with Panos Panay being the special guest.

In response to a challenge from a user about being specific about the dates new stock would be shipped to these retail outlets Panos sent this reply:

آبل تسجل براءة اختراع مستقبلات إشارة “خفية” للأجهزة الذكية

وافق مكتب تسجيل براءات الاختراع والعلامات التجارية الأمريكي اليوم الثلاثاء على تسجيل براءة اختراع لشركة “آبل” تحت مسمى Microslot antennas for electronic devices حول تقنية صنع مستقبل إشارة “خفي” لا يرى بالعين المجردة.

وسيكون “مستقبل الإشارة الخفي” مسئول عن التقاط ترددات الاتصال من الشبكات المزودة بالخدمة، وسيتميز عن المستقبلات الحالية بأنه أصغر حجماً بكثير ومناسب للأجهزة الذكية النحيفة التي تحتاج مكونات صغيرة نسبياً.

وتعتمد “آبل” حالياً على وضع مستقبلي إشارة داخل أجهزتها لالتقاط مختلف ترددات الشبكات، ففي هاتف “آيفون 5″ يكون أحد مستقبلي الإشارة مسئولاً عن تقنية LTE والأخر عن بقية الترددات.

وتشير تقارير إخبارية إلى أن براءة الاختراع تلك هي بداية للشركة الأمريكية لطرح أجهزة نحيفة مصنوع هيكلها بالكامل من الألمونيوم بدلاً من الزجاج والمعدن او البلاستيك، ولكن دون أي تأكيد أو نفي من “آبل” لتلك التقارير.

ويستطيع “مستقبل الإشارة الخفي” الذي حصلت “آبل” على براءة اختراعه التقاط الترددات الخاصة بشبكات “واي فاي” والبلوتوث ونظام الملاحة GPS بخلاف شبكات الاتصالات.

يذكر أن براءة الاختراع تلك ترجع ما قبل إصدار أول نسخ الهاتف الذكي “آيفون” في 2007، لذا استخدمت “آبل” حاسب محمول لتوضيح التقنية بدلاً من “آيفون” او “آيباد” وهي الحواسيب اللوحية التي أطلقتها الشركة في عام 2010.

Android 4.2.2 source starts to appear in AOSP

Android 4.2.2 is the latest Android version to be unleashed to the world. Of course it is not Key Lime Pie and only Google Nexus Devices are seeing the OTA’s being available. All hope is not lost though. Google has started to push the new JDQ39 Android 4.2.2 build to AOSP. It isn’t fully loaded just yet, but is making its way in slowly. Here is what is already making an appearance:

• /platform/dalvik/+/android-4.2.2_r1


• /platform/build/+/android-4.2.2_r1

While the complete source isn’t up just yet, it is coming. Once we see it become available for all we will be sure to let you know. For now, you will just have to be patient.
