Enable Multi Window For Apps on Galaxy Note 10.1 With CSC

Enable Multi Window For Apps on Galaxy Note 10.1 With CSC
Previously, we brought you news about the CSC file on the Galaxy Note. In a way, it is similar to the build.prop in that it can be used to enable and disable certain features and settings. As it turns out, there may be a way to enable the popular multi window feature on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
XDA Forum Member xperiacle began a thread with an idea that altering a certain part of the CSC file can allow multi window support for apps that don’t usually have it. This would mean that users can make a few simple CSC edits and have their apps work without any mods required. As xperiacle explains:

Socialize and grow your blog with Google+

Blogger lets you share your thoughts, grow your readership, and engage with your audience. But we want to make Blogger even better by letting you tap into the growing Google+ community. Today, we’re adding a new “Google+” tab in the Blogger dashboard, so you now have a central place to start growing your blog with Google+. This means you can now:

Connect your blog to a Google+ profile or page
If you blog under your own name, you’ve already been able to associate your blog with your personal Google+ profile.  Starting today, you can now connect your blog to a Google+ page for your brand, business or organization.

Mention people in your posts with Google+

Blogs are a great way to spark a conversation, and today we’re giving you a new way to grab someone’s attention: Google+ mentions in Blogger.  Now you can add a link to a Google+ profile or page when you want to mention someone in a post. If you then share your post from Blogger to Google+, we make it easier to notify your mentions by including them in the sharebox.

To mention someone, just type “+” before their name while you’re using the Blogger post editor.

The profile or page will show up as a link in your published post.  Hovering over will show a card with more info and an ‘Add to circles’ button. Clicking the link takes you straight to the Google+ profile or page.

So, whether you want to credit a co-author (thanks
+Gregory Fair!), ask a question, or just kick off a dialogue, connect your blog to Google+ and try mentioning someone in your next post!

The Gmail app for iPhone and iPad: version 2.0

Six months ago, our team set out to completely rebuild the Gmail app for iPhone and iPad to give you you a faster, sleeker, and easier experience on iOS. The result? Version 2.0. With version 2.0 of the app, you'll get a totally new look and feel, plus a bunch of improvements like profile pictures in messages, numerous new animations from swivels to transitions and infinite scrolling in the message lists.
The app also adds many new time-saving features. For example, when you search, autocomplete predictions will appear as you type, shaving off precious seconds (and typos). Plus, you can RSVP to Google Calendar invites as well as +1 and comment on Google+ posts directly from the app.

Drop in and get a call from Santa

With the big day right around the corner, activity in the North Pole is hitting a fever pitch. Yet, Santa will always make time to send a personalized holiday phone calls from Santa to your friends and family via his personal Google Voice line (aka Send a Call from Santa).

To send a message, find the Call Center in Santa’s Village. You will be prompted to answer a few fun questions, then Google Voice will do the rest! The system will create a tailored phone call from Santa himself, and send it to whomever you wish.
To get an idea of what to expect, listen to a sample message.

And don’t forget: If you want to keep up with Santa as he travels around the globe delivering presents on Christmas Eve, you can track his journey on Google Maps’s Santa Tracker.

Happy holidays from all of us at Google!

Samsung Galaxy S2

The Android buzz never seems to take a break and the hype continues with leaked details and pics of the Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9200). While just a rumor and a single pic shown, Samsung has always used sleek designs in their phones and this one looks sexy as can be. Some of the specs include a 2GHz processor (Hmmm maybe a dual core?), high resolution AMOLED 2 Display, a “full HD” 8 mega pixel camera, and a Gyroscope. Hopefully the Galaxy S2 will follow suit of the Galaxy S and be available to all of the major carriers.
Full proposed specs:
  • 4.3” 1280×720px Super AMOLED 2 display
  • 2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM/4GB ROM
  • 32GB of built-in flash memory, + 32GB microSD card slot
  • 8 mega pixel camera with Full HD video recording
  • A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • 3.5mm audiojack
  • accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensors
While we most likely won’t see this phone this year who knows. If it releases in 2011 it maybe we will even see it released with the new Android 3.0 OS in the works.

YouMail App Aims To Make Voicemail Services A Little “Smarter”

As we approach 2013, we are seeing the adoption newer technologies such as visual voicemail service. As the most well-known and popular option, Google Voice arrived with immediate fanfare a few years ago and brought with it the transcriptions of messages to the mainstream public. While Google Voice is away and by far the most popular, it does seem a bit limited to a certain extent for some users, so it’s only natural that different alternatives surface. With that in mind— YouMail aims to make receiving voicemail and transcriptions of voicemails just a little bit… “smarter” than other offerings from services like Google Voice.

CyanogenMod rolls out new Chronus clock widget for CM10.1 ROMs

The crafty CyanogenMod team has introduced a brand-new clock widget for CM10.1 ROMs today, offering impressive weather and calendar integration. Featuring the same bold face as the revamped clock in Android 4.2, CM’s new clock, Chronus, works on both lock screens and home screens. Also included are several nifty features that aren’t apparent in Jelly Bean’s stock clock widget, with complete control over your choice of weather data and a slew of calendar options. The best part? The new clock will be included in CM10.1 nightlies starting tonight.
