The iPhone 5S is reportedly already under construction, ready for a release in July

The iPhone 5S has already hit production lines according to a Japanese website.

Foxconn has started the manufacturing process, although at the moment only parts of the device are being produced, not the finished unit.


Macotakara said the iPhone 5 production line is being used, suggesting the iPhone 5S won't differ that much from last year's iSmartphone.

According to the Japanese site, NTT DoCoMo is cutting supplies of its Android offerings to make way for the next iPhone iteration. The Japanese network hasn't yet carried the iPhone.

According to rumours, the release date of the iPhone 5S is set for July or August as is the norm on Apple's release schedule.

Rumours have varied greatly for the device, with some saying it will feature an A7 processor, larger screen and better camera.

Others insist it will be a smaller and cheaper device, dubbed iPhone Mini. According to some rumours, such a product will be launched alongsdie the iPhone 5S in June or July.

The iPhone 6 has also been rumoured as a 2014 launch, and will apparently feature an OLED or IGZO 4.8-inch inch screen and a 20nm processor with either 4 or 8 cores.
