A firmware update for the Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Ultra and Z1 Compact was spotted a couple of days ago. It seems the update has arrived and is rolling out now, though not for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact just yet.
Any Sony Xperia Z1 or Z1 Ultra users should be able to receive the new firmware update by connecting to Sony’s PC Companion suite. There is an over-the-air update on its way but it seems to be taking a while.
now rolling (phased): JB 4.3 firmware for #XperiaZ1 & #XperiaZUltra – brings display, BT music streaming, email, Wifi improvements and more!

So what exactly is coming with the update? It brings with it the option to tweak the white balance on the device's display. Bluetooth music streaming has also been tweaked a little along with email and Wi-Fi. Alongside these features will be the standard minor bug fixes treatment.
No news yet on when the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact will be receiving the firmware update but we think it’ll be fairly soon. Now just to wait until Sony begins to roll out the Android 4.4 update for the handsets, it looks like it will be in February after all.
